Yonder shop is a well designed space with unique, lovely, approachably designed items for your home, yourself, and your family. Every object in the store is selected because it has a story to tell. The approach is it's either well-designed, handmade, useful, beautiful, often all of the above. The aesthetic is modern while remaining warm and inviting.  There is a selection of the most contemporary makers in ceramics, mine and many others, and so much more to be explored and enjoyed. I am committed to being continually on the hunt for inspiring designers/makers who have a passion for what they do.

The storefront space was designed for flexibility.  Imagine a gathering place able to host monthly events showcasing great talent, gallery shows, and community events workshops, and trunk shows.

Woodblock Relief Printmaking Workshop

Saturday, Sept 10, 2016

10am - 1pm

This class is perfect for anyone who has ever been interested in the fun and versatile art of printmaking but was unsure where to begin!

In this workshop you will learn basic techniques of woodblock printmaking which will be loosely based on the Japanese ukiyo-e style that focuses on landscapes and day to day life.  We will attempt our own simple  ukiyo-e inspired landscape using compositions from our beautiful coastlines here in Pacifica.

You will draw (or trace), carve, ink and print by hand your own individual woodblock from start to finish.  This class is designed to make printmaking fun and approachable while also showing you a variety ways you can reuse your woodblock.  We will be hand printing on traditional Japanese rice paper using oil based inks.  You will leave class with at least one finished block print, a traditional set of Japanese carving tools and your woodblock which you can reprint over and over.

Materials include woodblocks, Japanese carving set, rice paper $30 cost at the time of the workshop
